PERSONAL

I am a phd student in Microsystem Technology at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, where I also got my master degree in Engineering Physics. During 2003-2004 I was attached to the international program at Ecole Polytechnique in France where I followed the second year studies with batch X2002. I wrote my Master's thesis at the Maruyama laboratory at the University of Tokyo in Japan.

I did my military service at the Swedish Armed Force's Intelligence and Security Centre as an analyst's assistant where I also contributed with software for data analysis.

PROJECTS

Some projects and activities I have participating in.

Project China 2005 (2004-2005) Project China is an annual initiative organized jointly by students from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). The objective of the project is to build bridges between students in Swedish and Chinese universities and companies. The project organizes promotion fairs in Sweden and China and produces this year a report focusing on Chinese technology and entrepreneurship. (here is 2005's project page)

SIYSS (2004) Stockholm International Youth Science Seminars is an event where foreign students experience Swedish science and the Nobel Prize Award Ceremonies together with an intense social program. I was this year one of the five coordinators organizing the week-long seminar.

UUF (2002-2003) Utställningen Unga Forskare, The Swedish National Science Fair. Gathering top high school students from all over Sweden. I was project director in 2003 and responsible for sponsors and economy in 2002 (and a participant in 2000).

EYP (1999) Youth Parliament. In September 1999 the European Movement and various NGOs organized the first parliamentary assembly of young people from the enlarged European Union, which mobilized around 500,000 18-year-old "voters", 700 of whom were "elected" for four discussion sessions in Strasbourg . At the end of two days' discussions a "Strasbourg Manifesto" was issued, taking up the opinions and points of consensus of the young participants. During this event I was a member of the steering committee organizing the sessions in Strasbourg.

RESEARCH

My main research interest is for the time being microfluidics, in particular I am involved in projects for developing functional surfaces and a joint european project aiming to develop a microsystem for quick and chep diagnostics for multiple diseases (www.ist-sabio.org).

In my master thesis I investigated the thermal boundary resistance in single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) by molecular dynamics simulations.

OTHER

Teknik SM (2005) Together with two friends, representing KTH, I won the Swedish Championship in Future Technology 2005, a competition organised by Swedish universities and SAAB AB. See our homepage .

Student Union (2004-2005) I was elected deputy speaker of the student union of the Royal Institute of Technology in 2004.

Member of Nova 100 (2005) Entered as a member of the network Nova 100.
