# Sastry NEST meeting notes # Date: 5/28/2004 # Present: Phoebus, Bonnie, Chung-Shik, Cory, Mike # Scribe: Phoebus Chen - Very few people attended the meeting, so it was kept short and informal while we were doing some physical setup on the testbed. - Testbed status * very close to completion, estimate 1 or 2 more days to get fully running * switch plan to 45 motes on testbed, with 2.5 feet spacing between each (9 by 5 grid) * 30 ethernet cables for motes have been strung up * 45 eMotes ready to go ~ Power over Ethernet capability tested and working - can power the mote ~ No programming/data collection over PoE switch tested yet * 41 motes fully assembled. Will try to get more parts from Intel next week (short on mag boards, battery board, battery, and mote.) ~ have not tested motes yet - NEST retreat is coming up next Thursday and Friday * Earlier this week Song suggests that Phoebus do a poster on his 281B magnetometer position estimation project. Phoebus will consider it, if he can generate better results in time. * Song and Luca will do a poster on magnetometer tracking. * Mike will try to make a poster on Optimization of Network Flows (personal project) if he can get more results on initial work in time. - Game Theory Reading Group * Tanya had suggested starting a Game Theory Reading Group this summer, which will include people not on the NEST project within Sastry's group that are interested. * Bonnie and Phoebus are interested in this for designing Pursuit Algorithms * Bonnie will try to help get the ball rolling by selecting basic background material (chapters of books, papers, etc.) to read. * Phoebus is willing to lead the first meeting. * Would like to set the first meeting date the Friday after next week (NEST retreat next Friday). Will check with Tanya on this.
